NER Tile Map at Pickering

The 'North Eastern Tile Company' at Wrelton, just a few miles west Pickering commissioned the re-production of the 72 tiled map which appeared at many larger stations on the North Eastern network.

In 2009, one of these productions was fitted at Pickering Station, which never actually had a tile map originally, but this is a worthy reproduction in a fitting environment. Original tile maps still survive nearby at Scarborough and also Whitby. There was one at Malton, but this has not been preserved.

12 original maps survive in total, amasingly 9 of them at their original locations.
