G5 Push Pull
After the Sentinel Railcars were withdrawn at the end of the 1940's, the push pull method developed by the North Eastern Railway for light passenger services was reinstated. This time the locomotives used were the North Eastern Railway Class G5 0-4-4 tank. This method was used until the line closed.
A regular to the Forge Valley line during British Railways times was No.67273. This locomotive hauled the last train along the Forge Valley Line on Saturday 3rd June 1950.
